Door access management

Lets location managers assign cards, set door access, and deactivate users at their own location.

Credential and door accessSecurity & access
Location-scoped door-access management with local reader validationA location manager uses one portal to manage people, cards, assigned doors, and events. Portal changes pass through the controller SDK and controller to update the reader's local card list. At the door, the reader checks the key fob locally. A credential authorized for that door allows entry; an unknown credential is denied and can be assigned to a new user in the portal.MANAGER PORTAL · THIS LOCATION ONLYACCESS PORTALPEOPLEADD · DEACTIVATECARDSASSIGN · REMOVEDOORSSET PERMISSIONSEVENTSVIEW · SORTPORTAL CHANGES UPDATE THE READERSDKCONTROLLERREADERUPDATEDAT THE DOOR · CHECKED LOCALLYKEY FOBLOCAL CHECKMATCH?JOHN DOEUNKNOWN

01

Why it was needed

The existing access-control application was difficult to use and did not support practical self-service at each location.

02

What changed

It was replaced with a simpler system that separates administrator and location-manager roles. Location managers can now decide who receives access, add people, issue badges, assign doors and schedules, change permissions, and deactivate access themselves.

03

Key requirements

Self-service cannot mean unrestricted access. Each manager can change access only for their assigned location, while administrators retain broader control. Every person, badge, door assignment, schedule, and deactivation must reach the physical access system accurately and remain traceable.

Main features

  1. Add and deactivate people
  2. Issue and manage badges
  3. Assign doors and permissions
  4. Assign access schedules
  5. Separate location-manager and administrator roles

Result

Location managers now make and carry out routine access decisions themselves.
