Desktop workflow automation
Automates a repetitive financial procedure inside an existing Windows application when no suitable integration is available.
A repetitive financial posting process had to be performed through the visible screens of an existing Windows application.
Workflow automationWhat changed
The controller launches or connects to the program, follows the required menus, enters controlled dates and values, runs the operation, and reports progress to a supervising user.
Key requirements
The automation works through the same windows an employee sees. Before every click or entry it confirms the expected screen is present; if a dialog, delay, focus change, or software update changes that screen, the run stops and reports where it stopped instead of posting into the wrong place.
Main features
- Connect to or launch a desktop application
- Navigate menus and screens
- Enter controlled dates and values
- Run financial posting sequences
- Let staff start supervised runs
Result
Converted a repetitive desktop procedure into a supervised automation run.
